The proceedings at the Magistracy terminated in due course and Mr Wodehouse reported that he found a prima facie case against the two remaining prisoners; but this he qualified by the statement that the whole evidence was, to his mind, suspicious in the highest degree, and he added that, beyond the bare assertion of identification, there was nothing whatever to connect the prisoners with the crime with which they were charged.
